Camp Gan Izzy-East Cobb

  UPDATE #3

Subject - Good News From Camp Gan Izzy!

Dear Families,

We are so pleased to share that Camp Gan Izzy-East Cobb will be opening the Main Camp and Kiddie Camp at our physical site!

As the safety of our campers, their families and the staff, is of our highest priority, the CGI program has been adjusted and modified to follow the most current Covid-19 summer camp guidelines set forth by the CDC, the state of Georgia and in consultation with local health professionals.  With everyone following all the necessary proactive precautions, we are confident that your child(ren) can be provided with an amazing, exciting and fun filled summer, with all with the love, care and wonderful Camp Gan Izzy spirit they have come to know! A new, updated and comprehensive Parent Handbook, with all the updated information and details, will be forthcoming later this week.

Below are some of the important policies, changes and information that you need to be aware of:

*The camp dates remain the same: June 29-July 24th

*The camp hours have been modified to:
 Kiddie Camp: 10am - 2pm
 Main Camp:    10:30am - 3:30pm

*There will be no precare or aftercare.

*The price has been reduced to $245 per week/per child. If you have paid in full you will be refunded the difference before camp begins.

*There will not be any off-site trips.

*A certified health professional will be on site at all times, to ensure the safety of our campers and staff and to answer all your questions and concerns.

*All camp staff
are required to take Covid-19 tests before the start of camp.

*All campers and staff will have their temperatures taken each morning at drop off.

*All camp staff will be trained on appropriate cleaning, disinfection, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.

*Our full-time, onsite custodian will be sanitizing the building thoroughly throughout the day, including door handles, bathrooms, etc.

*The campers will be in small groups of 10 campers or less and each group will remain with their own counselors at all times, while social distancing from other groups.

*The majority of activities will take place outdoors at our location. Our camp site includes: 4 acres of fields, a 3.5 acre lake, and our new nature trail! We also are excited to be offering onsite boating, fishing, swimming, remote control mini boats and much more!!!

*Children need to bring water bottles and a non-perishable lunch. We will continue to provide daily snacks (individual packets) and ice pops at the end of the day.  Each group of 10 campers will have their own designated water machine and disposable cups.

*We will be opening our new registration for our modified program by the end of this week. Due to the new guidelines, we are limiting the amount of campers that we will be accepting. If you are already registered for certain weeks you do not have to do anything at this time (and we will refund you if there is any surplus in your payments to date, based on the new cost per week)  If you would like to add weeks to your current registration, please do so as soon as the new registration opens, to ensure a spot for your child(ren). An email will go out to inform you when the new registration opens.

*The Covid-19 full refund policy for cancellation will remain in place until Wednesday, June 10th.

We are looking forward to a great summer!

May 12, 2020

We are getting closer to making a final decision about this summer's camp options and hope to communicate our plan in the beginning of June. Any options that we provide will follow all CDC, ACA and local health official guidelines.

As mentioned in our previous update, we are working proactively with the National Camp Gan Izzy Association, developing options, ensuring that we will be ready for any of the possible realities for this summer. These include modified onsite and online options. The costs of these programs may reduce the tuition costs.

Below are just a few of the new developments and upgrades to our camp program that we have implemented:

1. We have added 3 acres of fields to the outdoor space to help ensure more spacing of the smaller groups in the event of an onsite summer program.

2. We have added a beautiful half mile nature trail.

3. We have upgraded our website; please visit

As you are aware, this is a continually developing situation and we will continue to update you as we go forwards.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via email at: [email protected]

Dear Camp Gan Izzy-East Cobb Families,

We hope you and your loved ones are all holding up well and staying safe and healthy in these trying and unprecedented times.

We want you to know that we are continuing to closely monitor the current Covid-19 situation, communicating with local and state health officials and awaiting the forthcoming CDC and ACA recommendations and guidelines for summer camps.

Proactively, we are working with the National Camp Gan Izzy Association, developing options, ensuring that we will be ready for any of the possible realities for this summer. Some of the many options we are considering include a modified-onsite, camp program, with new social distancing rules, hygiene protocols, and other necessary requirements and restrictions, which will follow all CDC guidelines and be monitored by onsite trained health professionals, keeping all the campers and staff safe. In the event that any onsite camp program is not possible, we are also developing a cutting-edge-online camp program with proper camper age groups, full camp staff, activities, competitions and top performers, along with a full schedule that can be implemented at home. We are also exploring the possibility of offering families both scenarios or the ability to choose a different option on different days. The fees for these various options may reduce the cost of the tuition.
As you are aware this is a developing situation and we will continue to update you as we  go  forwards.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me via email at: [email protected]

May you and your family stay safe and healthy,

Chani Silverman
